COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech junior Shelby Johnson was selected to the All-Ohio Valley Conference Team Monday evening at the league's annual Awards Dinner as part of the OVC Championships.
Johnson ranked 11th in the league in scoring heading into the OVC Championships first round on Monday, posting a stroke average of 76.6 with two top-10 finishes and one All-Tournament honor. She ranked second on the Tech squad in scoring average while playing in all nine regular season events.
The native of Sparta turned in a season-low 224 in the team's most recent appearance on the links, tying for eighth at the Jan Weaver Invitational. Her best single round of action came back at the Town and Country Invitational in the fall, where she sported a 70 as part of a 142. Johnson also finished as the tournament runner-up in the vent, her best finish of her career.
She took part in each and every one of Tech's 25 rounds of golf throughout the year, one of just two Golden Eagles to do so.
