KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team completed the first round of action at the Edwin Watts – Kiawah Island Classic Sunday afternoon, turning in a combined 310 in the nation's largest Division I women's golf tournament.

The Golden Eagles ranked 33^rd among the 49 teams in contention at both Osprey Point and Oak Point course at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort. Coastal Carolina filled in at the top of the field with a 2-under 286. The first round's individual leader, Lehigh's Reagan Jahn, turned in a 4-under 68 with her team tied for 24^th.

Junior Shelby Johnson and senior Lindsay Miller paced the Golden Eagles on the first day of play, both firing 2-over 74s. Johnson turned in a pair of birdies and 13 pars in her first go around of the Oak Point Course. Miller completed par 14 times while producing one birdie. The two ranked tied for 54^th among the field of 254 golfers.

Tying for 139^th junior Arianna Clemmer carded a 79 with three birdies to finish third among the Golden Eagles. Kate Mashburn, a sophomore from Calhoun, Ga., rounded out the day shooting an 83 with a single birdie.

Rounding out the first day of action for Tech was sophomore Isabel York, who posted an 86.

Tech is scheduled to line up for round two on Monday, playing the Osprey Point Course with shotgun starts of 7:45 a.m. CT and 12:30 p.m. CT.
