Golden Eagles to play in Samford Intercollegiate Monday, Tuesday

HOOVER, Ala. -- The Tennessee Tech women's golf team opens play at the Samford Intercollegiate on Monday at the Hoover Country Club in Alabama. This year's tournament features 11 teams from around the region.

The Golden Eagles join Alabama State, Jackson State, Lamar, Louisiana-Monroe, UAB, University of Mobile, University of New Orleans, West Florida and host Samford in the 54-hole tournament. 

Tech will tee off in a shotgun start at 8:15 CST on both Monday and Tuesday. 

The Hoover Country Club features a par-72, 6,271-yard course in Hoover, just outside of Birmingham. Troy won last year's tournament, carding a team score of 914 while Newberry Colleg's Maria Luz Besio won the individual title with a 219.
