Bell shines at rain-shortened Lady Eagle Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- After heavy rains pelted the Hattiesburg Monday, the Lady Eagle Invitational was shortened to just one day of play. Katherine Bell made the most of it as she led the Tennessee Tech women's golf team on the week.

Bell, a senior, carded a +5 77 at the Hattiesburg Country Club to place her in a tie for 6th place out of 96 golfers at the tournament hosted by Southern Miss. Her scored helped the Golden Eagles to a 7th-place finish out of 16 teams.

Bell was followed closely by sophomore Madalyn Everts and freshman Megan Williamson, who shot 80 and 81, respectively. Junior Amber Shepherd and Allison Geer rounded out the field for the Golden Eagles.

Tech returns to action Monday as it hosts the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tenn. More information will be posted on TTUSports.com.
