Tech women open April play at Pinehurst Challenge

Coming off of a victory at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, the Tennessee Tech women's golf team heads east Monday and Tuesday to take part in the Pinehurst Challenge, hosted by College of Charleston.

Pinehurst #6, a 5,993 par-72 course in North Carolina, plays host to the tournament which features 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 on Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles will square off against a field that includes Boston University, Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, Dartmouth, Illinois State, Jacksonville, James Madison, Morehead State, North Florida, Old Dominion, Penn State, Richmond, Rollins, Samford, St. John’s, Wichita State and William & Mary.

Tech topped a field of 12 teams at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate on March 19, shooting a 36-hole total of 622. Freshman Madalyn Everts led the Golden Ealges with a fourth-place finish.
