COOKEVILLE, Tenn.—Head women's basketball coach Kim Rosamond is pleased to announce the signing of Jackson County native Kassidy Allen to the 2016-17 Golden Eagle roster.

"We are excited about the addition of Kassidy Allen to our program," Coach Rosamond said. "She is a local standout who comes from a championship program and has played for one of the best coaches in the state in Coach Jim Brown. "

Allen comes to Tennessee Tech off of a successful high school career. She averaged 13.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game her senior season. Allen closed out her career as a Lady Blue Devil with over 1,600 career points and accumulated numerous honors over her four years. She was named a 2016 District 7A co-Player of the Year and to the All-State teams in 2015 and 2016. Allen was a four-year All-District selection, as well as was named to the 2015 and 2016 Herald Citizen First Team all upper Cumberland teams.

"Kassidy can play multiple positions and brings a great deal of versatility," Rosamond continued. "She sees the floor, breaks down defenses and finishes well at the rim. "

Also named to the 2013 and 2014 All-State tournament teams, Allen finished her high school career with a 105-27 record under the direction of head coach Jim Brown, claiming a State title her freshman season and finishing runner-up her sophomore year.

"She's very athletic and with her athleticism she can play on the perimeter," Coach Brown remarked. "She can also possibly fill the spot at the 4 position, depending on their style of play. I definitely think she brings a lot to the table. It's very exciting for our entire community and me. We have so much support for our program here. I know in the past when we have had players at Tech, you see a lot more Jackson County faces in the stands as well."

Allen joins numerous other Lady Blue Devils who have worn the Purple and Gold, most notable Emily Lane and Hope Scantland played at TTU while Marissa Hensley and Deanna Apple started and performed admirably during their Golden Eagle careers.

"Kassidy is a competitor and a winner, and she will have a positive influence on our culture at Tennessee Tech," Rosamond stated.
