Final Results
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech track and field team wrapped up competition at the 2014-15 Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships in Clarksville, Tenn., on the campus of Austin Peay State University.
The Golden Eagles opened up the meet by earning the first points for the Purple and Gold of the championships.
Freshman Kayla Turange, sophomore Brittany McGee, and juniors Tiara Hymon and Atlanta Westbrook, combined to finish in sixth place in the 4x100-meter relay. The quartet crossed the finish-line in a time of 50.16 to earn three points for TTU.
In the 4x400, Hymon and Westbrook teamed with Madison Stremler and Brooklyn Kimball to finish in a time of 4:00.38.
In the 5,000-meter race, freshman Sonel Bezuidenhout and Lera McNamara finished with time of 19:08.91 and 20:36.66, respectively.
In the field events, Westbrook took to the triple jump, the event in which she holds the school record, and on her first jump, hit a mark of 37-08.5, which would be the distance in which she finished.
Sophomore Makayla Kington and freshman Bethany Parker each participated in the shot up. Kington led the way for TTU with a throw of 32-10.25, while Parker followed with a mark of 30-09.00, a personal best for the freshman.
The OVC Outdoor Championships wrap up the 2015 season for the Golden Eagles.
