Makayla her introduction to
collegiate competition in 2014, and heads into her second season on
the roster with experience to help her build upon her first
year.
TECH (2013-14): (Indoor) Makayla competed in the shot put posting a personal record of 30’ 10” at the TSU indoor meet. (Outdoor) Makayla posted a personal record of 31’ 2.00” in the shot put, 112’ 04” in the Discus throw, and 73’06 in the Javelin Throw.
HIGH SCHOOL: Makayla was a three-sport athlete at Stone Memorial high school, competing in basketball, golf and track and field ... Makayla was a TSSAA track state championship participant during her time at Stone Memorial, winning sectionals her junior year, and winning the state championships in her senior season ... her best throws in the discus was 112 feet, and 34 yards in the shot put.
PERSONAL: Makayla Carol Kington is the daughter of Bobby and Mary Kington ... competed in high school with current Tech teammates Erin Keyes and Kelli Keck ... is majoring in general health studies.
