COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After building a 7-7 record to start the season, including a 6-1 record in its last seven games, the Tennessee Tech softball team begins Ohio Valley Conference play this weekend as it hosts a three-game series against Tennessee State.

The Golden Eagles' three scheduled games against TSU will be Tech's first since last Friday, as weather has canceled or postponed six games in the past week.

During their 23 years of competition, the Golden Eagles have compiled a 47-9 record against the Tigers. Last season, Tech took two of three games against TSU, including a pair of shutouts.

The Tigers are 6-15 on the season, including an 0-4 record on the road. TSU is currently on a nine-game losing streak.

Saturday will feature a pair of games, with the first game slated to start at 1 p.m. Sunday's single game is also scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

Thursday's scheduled game against Western Kentucky has been postponed due to weather, but will try to be made up later this season.
