COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – For the second time in his young career, freshman Rafael Tosetto has been named the Ohio Valley Conference's Male Tennis Athlete of the Week.

The award marks the third time the Tech tennis team has been recognized with the weekly honor. Tosetto also claimed the distinction on Feb. 26, a week after senior Wenceslao Albin secured the accolade on Feb. 19.

Tosetto was perfect in Tech's lone match during the week, a 7-0 victory at Jacksonville State on Feb. 13. The Jacarei, Brazil product took home a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Aljaz Kaplja in the No. 1 singles matchup and secured a 6-4 nod with Lucca Silva in the No. 3 doubles clash.

Tosetto has won three straight OVC singles clashes to push his singles ledger to 8-9 this spring. The 5-foot-8 rookie has played all 17 of his bouts out of the top position in the TTU lineup. Tosetto is also tied with fellow freshman Carlos Vicente with 10 doubles victories this season.

The Golden Eagles are set to greet Tennessee State in the regular-season finale Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Tech Tennis Courts. The match was originally scheduled for Friday, but impending inclement weather forced the change. TTU is currently in a three-way tie with Belmont and Jacksonville State for first place in the OVC.
