Four Golden Eagles headed to Tulsa for the ITA Men’s All-American Championships

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A quartet Golden Eagles from the Tennessee Tech tennis team are off to Tulsa, Okla. for one of the fall's most premier events. Elias Grubert, Fanis Kontopoulos, Lucca Silva and Rafael Tosetto will take aim in the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships hosted by the University of Tulsa.

Grubert, a freshman out of Parana, Argentina, will square off against SMU's Tomas Vaise in the first round on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT. Should Grubert collect a victory, the Golden Eagle rookie will square off with the winner of Zac Price out of Oral Roberts and UAB's Giovani Pasini at 5:30 Saturday evening in the second round.

Kontopoulous, a TTU newcomer out of Corinthos, Greece, is set to lock up with Blake Sprouse from Oral Roberts in a first-round bout Saturday morning at 8 a.m. The victor will clash with the winner of Notre Dame's Grayson Broadus and UAB's Daniel Janko at 2:30 p.m. in the second round.

Silva, a newcomer to the Tech roster from Sao Paulo Brazil, will have USC's Jake Sands in his sights for a first-round matchup on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. Should the TTU freshman prevail, Silva will greet the winner of Notre Dame's Tristan McCormick and Denver's James Davis in Saturday's second round at 3 p.m.

Tosetto, a freshman from Jacarei, Brazil, is slated to meet Lamar's Sebastian Santibanez for his first-round battle on Saturday at 11:30. The winner will meet Old Dominion's Francis Musitelli, who already received a first-round bye. The second-round affair is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
