Community joins with Tech Athletics for Communiversity Night Thursday

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The business community in Cookeville and Putnam County will play a major role Thursday night in helping Tennessee Tech enjoy a strong home field advantage for the Golden Eagles game against Maryville College. Tech is hosting the annual Communiversity Night at the first home game of the season.

Every business in the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce has been invited to the game and has received a free ticket offer.

Communiversity Night is one of several special promotions surrounding the 7 p.m. game. It will also be Military Appreciation and Public Safety Night, as well as First Tennessee Bank Poster Night. The Magic 98.5 Tailgate Park opens at 4 p.m., and will feature the National Guard Car No. 88 driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Fans are invited to bring their camera and take photos next to the popular Nascar vehicle.

Director of Athletics Mark Wilson and head coach Watson Brown spoke to the Chamber's "Breakfast Before Hours" gathering early Tuesday morning.

For ticket information, please call the Athletics Ticket Office in Eblen Center at (931) 372-3940.
