COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The business community in Cookeville and
Putnam County will play a major role Thursday night in helping
Tennessee Tech enjoy a strong home field advantage for the Golden
Eagles game against Maryville College. Tech is hosting the annual
Communiversity Night at the first home game of the season.
Every business in the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce
has been invited to the game and has received a free ticket
offer.
Communiversity Night is one of several special promotions
surrounding the 7 p.m. game. It will also be Military Appreciation
and Public Safety Night, as well as First Tennessee Bank Poster
Night. The Magic 98.5 Tailgate Park opens at 4 p.m., and will
feature the National Guard Car No. 88 driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Fans are invited to bring their camera and take photos next to the
popular Nascar vehicle.
Director of Athletics Mark Wilson and head coach Watson Brown spoke
to the Chamber's "Breakfast Before Hours" gathering early Tuesday
morning.
