COOEKVILLE, Tenn. -- Fans are invited to join head coach Watson
Brown and the OVC Champion Tennessee Tech football team Sunday
morning for the viewing of the Selection Show on ESPNU to learn
where the Golden Eagles will play next week in the first round of
the 2011 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoffs.
The program airs from 9 to 9:30 a.m. CT, so fans are encouraged to
arrive between 8:30 and 9 a.m. The gathering will take place in the
auditorium of Tennessee Tech's School of Nursing Building, located
on the corner of Seventh Street and Mahler Avenue. Parking is
available in the rear of the building.
The Golden Eagles captured a share of the OVC title Saturday with
a 49-7 victory over Austin Peay in Tucker Stadium, earning the
league's automatic berth in the FCS Playoffs. It is Tech's first
OVC football championship in 36 years, and the team's first-ever
appearance in the FCS playoffs since they were established in
1978.
