Golden Eagles continue climb in national Top 25 polls

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Boasting a victory last week over a ranked opponent, the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle football team has taken another step up the ladder in both Football Championship Subdivision Top 25 national polls. Coach Watson Brown's team (5-2/4-1 OVC) is currently listed No. 15 on the FCS Coach's poll and No. 20 on The Sports Network/Fathead.com poll.

The Golden Eagles have three games remaining in the 2011 regular season, including two at home inTucker Stadium beginning this Saturday with a Homecoming contest against Murray State. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. After that, Tech visit Eastern Kentucky, another OVC team that is receiving votes in both polls, before closing with a home game against Austin Peay on Nov. 19.

Curiously, last week's victim Jacksonville State, remained ahead of Tech in one of the polls while slipped a couple spots back in the other. The Gamecocks are 18th in both polls.

For tickets to the game against the Racers, visit the Athletics Ticket Office in Eben Center or call (931) 372-3940.
