COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – In the inaugural season of the Ohio Valley Conference soccer competition, Angela Freund Bobo took the conference by storm.

She is one of five inductees into the 50th class of the Tennessee Tech Sports Hall of Fame. Along with Freund, Judson Dillard (men's basketball, 2009-2013), Daniel Miles (baseball, 2013-2014), Michael Penix Sr. (football, 1992-1995), and Zach Stephens (baseball, 2011-2014) will be inducted during the annual Hall of Fame Dinner on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6:30 p.m. CT at the Roaden University Center's Multipurpose Room. Tickets for the dinner are on sale by calling (931) 372-3940, visiting the Eblen Center ticket office, or by visiting TTUsports.com.

Freund was Tech's top offensive player in her debut season, entering the record books by setting single-season and career scoring records for most goals, assists, points, shots on goal, and game-winning goals. She ranked second in conference goals and total points, not to mention she was only a freshman.

The young force helped lead the team to an undefeated 4-0 record in conference action capturing the inaugural Ohio Valley Conference championship.  Freund was named the very first OVC Freshman of the Year.

Freund's accomplishments continued for the following three years while she played at TTU, living up to the expectations of being the best offensive player Tech has ever had. During her sophomore campaign, Freund represented Tennessee Tech at the highest level setting every record in season, game, and career scoring. Her on-the-field accomplishments were unparalleled, but she carried that success into the classroom. During her time at Tech, she made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll all eight semesters and was also named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

The Golden Eagles again captured the OVC Championship Title in 2000, thanks to the offensive standout that Freund continued to be.  During the conference's grueling schedule, Freund propelled herself to greatness by becoming the OVC Soccer Player of the Week after shattering her own records and entering the 2000 squad into the record books with a team season wins record.

Freund rounded out her career at Tech holding numerous records, and she is still listed second in four categories more than two decades after her graduation. Her dedication to the soccer program was clear to not only her coach and teammates, but around campus, as well. In her four seasons, she never missed one match and started every match of her career. She was captain of the squad her senior season and earned two first-team all-OVC selections and two second-team all-OVC selections. Tech's record during Freund's career was 40-35-2.

She graduated from Tech with her bachelor's degree in accounting in 2002.
