NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A trio of Tennessee Tech student-athletes took part in the annual Ohio Valley Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee summit, lending their voices to better student-athlete welfare and the overall experience at their respective institutions and across the conference.

James Edwards (Football), Reghan Grimes (Women's Basketball) and Isaac Legault (Cross Country) were the three Golden Eagle representatives at the conference. All three serve on subcommittees among the conference chapter with Edwards taking part in Awareness, Grimes on Social Media and Legault on Initiatives.

In all, 27 student-athletes from all 11 OVC member institutions converged on Nashville, discussing topics that impact student-athletes across the nation, including Name-Image-Likeness (NIL), mental health and ways to build a community presence both on campus and in the cities they live. The attendees also discussed ways to enhance current initiatives – such as Mental Health Awareness Week and Hoops For Heroes with the OVC – as well as their own projects with the on-campus SAAC chapters. They also discussed leadership with OVC staff and member institution administrators.

Edwards, a redshirt sophomore transfer from Appalachian State, is in his first season with the Golden Eagle football team. Grimes, a junior from Nashville, is in her third campaign with the Tech women's basketball program. Legault, a junior from Knoxville, is in his third year with the Golden Eagle cross country program.
