COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Golfers, fans and supporters of Tennessee Tech Athletics are highly encouraged to register now for the Pepsi Bobby Nichols Golden Eagle Scramble presented by Budweiser, as the field has already surpassed the half-way full mark with just over a month-and-a-half remaining to sign up.

The annual fundraiser returns to its popular three-day format, featuring 18 holes of golf on Friday, June 7, Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9. The tournament will take place at both the Golden Eagle Golf Club and White Plains Golf Club. Pepsi returns as the title sponsor for the 15th year with Budweiser in the 14th year as the presenting sponsor.

Participating golfers will receive an impressive package of perks with their $250 paid entry fee this year, including:

  • Greens fees (cart not included) for two practice rounds (one at each course) any time leading up to the event after they have paid their registration in full.
  • Two tickets to Doc Fields' Concert presented by Budweiser
  • A small bucket/bag of balls to hit prior to each tournament round
  • Free lunch each round (featuring one hot dog, one bag of chips and six drink tickets)
  • One free cart per team during each round of the tournament
  • Entry to the annual BBQ dinner featuring door prizes
  • Opportunity to win flight gift certificates
  • Increased payouts based on field of play
  • Improved goody bags with a distinctive gift

The Bobby Nichols Scramble will kick off Friday morning with the first round of play followed by the annual Doc Fields' golf party/concert to follow later that evening. Play will continue Saturday morning with the second round followed by the annual barbeque dinner, contests and door prizes. Flighting will occur based off Friday and Saturday's results and tee times will be set accordingly and communicated to each participant. There will be no flight declaration for any flight, including the championship flight. Professionals are not eligible for prizes or contests.

New for the 2019 scramble is a referral discount. Anyone who played in the 2018 scramble and refers a family member, friend or acquaintance that has not competed in the Pepsi Bobby Nichols Golden Eagle Scramble presented by Budweiser in the last year will receive their mulligans (one per round) free of charge, following the completion of both players' fully paid registration.

Registration will open Wednesday, March 13 for golfers interested in playing in one of the largest golf fundraising tournaments in the Southeast. Those who register early will get their first choice of tee time and course for play on Friday and Saturday (each golfer will be required to play each course once). Registration will be available online, on the phone or in person at the Hooper Eblen Center ticket office.

The scramble will have a limited capacity of 320 golfers and is expected to fill quickly, so all participants are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot. With the return of its popular three-day format, the Pepsi Bobby Nichols Golden Eagle Scramble presented by Budweiser will continue to be one of the largest and most popular golf events in the region.

Tournament applications will be mailed to all past participants, former Tennessee Tech athletes and alumni in the surrounding areas.

For additional information, visit the Athletics Ticket Office in the Eblen Center or call (931) 372-3940 or 3941.
