Everts earns three honors as Brown announces golf awards

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Madalyn Everts led the Tennessee Tech women's golf team in several statistical categories throughout her redshirt freshman campaign and continued to do so in postseason awards. The Ooltewah, Tenn. native earned the MVP, Most Dedicated Player, and Low Average honors as head coach Polk Brown announced the annual team awards.

Everts shot a team-low average of 79.08 and earned All-Tournament three times. Her third-round 70 at the Ohio Valley Conference Championship was the lowest round of any Golden Eagle this year and ranked the fourth-lowest in the OVC.

Freshman Allison Geer was named the Most Improved Player and fellow freshman Megan Williamson earned the team's Impact Award.

Seniors Amanda Randolph and Katherine Bell were named team captains again for the 2012-13 campaign, while Randolph also earned the title of Long Hitter for the second consecutive year.

Junior Amber Shepherd took the Best Putter award. The Caryville, Tenn. native finished the year with a top-10 finish at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate and carded an average of 80.94 for the season.
