Tech women open season at Kiawah Island

The Tennessee Tech women's golf team opens its spring schedule Sunday at one of the largest tournaments in the country, the Kiawah Island Classic in South Carolina.

The three-day tournament, hosted by College of Charleston, features 33 teams battling it out over three rounds on two courses. After a practice round on Saturday, the teams will be split to play on either the Oak Point or Cougar Point course on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday's action features the top 18 teams playing at Cougar Point and the others at Oak Point. 

The Golden Eagles last played at the UAB Fall Beach Blast in October, where they finished eighth.

Tech is just one of the many teams from around the country, joining the likes of Bucknell, Campbell, Central Arkansas, Charleston Southern, The Citadel, College of Charleston, Daytona State, Elon, Fairleigh Dickinson, Florida Gulf Coast, High Point, IUPUI, Jacksonville State, Longwood, Loyola Chicago, Marshall, Middle Tennessee State, Newberry, North Florida, UNCG, Oral Roberts, Presbyterian, Radford, Richmond, Samford, St. Johns, Stephen F. Austin, Towson, Troy, Western Kentucky, Winthrop and Wofford.
