COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – For the fourth time this season, junior Charles Jackson took home league honors for his dominant play on the court for the Tennessee Tech men's basketball team, earning adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week Monday afternoon.

The big man average 18 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games for the Golden Eagles last week, including a crucial, overtime victory over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. Jackson tallied his 14th double-double of the season against the Colonels, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds. He is now tied for the national lead in double-doubles.

In addition to his dominance on the scoreboard and glass, the Sacramento native added three blocks and three steals for Tech squad, all while shooting a sizzling 78.9 percent from the field. He averaged nearly 30 minutes per game in the two contests and ripped down 10 offensive boards.

On the year, Jackson leads the Golden Eagles in scoring with 14 points per game, rebounding with 9.2 per game, blocks with 27, steals with 21 and field goal percentage with a clip of 59.4 percent.

His 14 doubles are the most in a single season in program history since the 1996-97 season. The late, great Lorenzo Coleman posted a whopping 20 that season, half of his career total of 40.

The Golden Eagles will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 29 with a trip to Nashville and a match-up with Tennessee State at 7 p.m. CST.
