COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A career performance was more than enough for Tennessee Tech guard Aleksa Jugovic to take home his second adidas® OVC Freshman of the Week award Monday afternoon, as the freshman earned the honor after helping the Golden Eagles to a huge victory over UMKC last week.
A native of Serbia, Jugovic led the Tech squad with 27 minutes off the bench, scoring 11 points and dishing out a career-high six assists. He made just two turnovers on the night and turned in a perfect game from the charity stripe, hitting on all four of his attempts.
Tech went on to grab its largest margin of victory over a non-conference road opponent since the 1982-83 season, defeating the Kangaroos, 81-60.
Jugovic also took home OVC co-Freshman of the Week honors earlier this season after scoring a career-high 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc against Southeastern Louisiana.
The Golden Eagles will take on North Florida at 6 p.m. Monday evening before starting conference play with a road game at Eastern Illinois Thursday afternoon.
