BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the fourth time in her young career, Tennessee Tech volleyball sophomore Jordan Karlen was honored as the Ohio Valley Conference's Setter of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.

The reigning OVC Setter of the Year and Freshman of the Year, not to mention the first player in league history to win both awards in the same season, Karlen put together a strong weekend of moving the ball for the purple and gold at the team's Golden Eagle Invitational presented by Holiday Inn of Cookeville. Over three matches and 10 sets, the second-year setter tallied 103 assists and 24 digs, averaging 10.30 helpers and 2.40 digs per set.

The Janesville, Wis. native was special in the weekend-opening sweep of ETSU, distributing 38 assists in three sets while adding four kills, seven digs, and a block to the mix. She averaged a whopping 12.67 helpers per set in the match, directing the offense to a .250 attack percentage.

In match two against Kennesaw State, Karlen piled up 42 assists across four sets, just missing a double-double with nine digs. She closed out the weekend with 23 assists and eight digs against a robust Cincinnati squad. For her work in the team's three matches, Karlen was selected to the Golden Eagle Invitational All-Tournament Team, her first career All-Tournament nod.

Tech will return to action this weekend with a trip to Oxford, Miss. to compete in the Ole Miss Invite. The Golden Eagles kick off the action on Friday, Sept. 8 with a 4:00 p.m. CT tilt with Alcorn State. Play continues on Saturday for the purple and gold, with a double dip of South Dakota State at 10:00 a.m. and the host Rebels at 4:00 p.m.
