BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Guard Kesha Brady has been named the adidas® OVC Freshman of the Week, as announced by the Ohio Valley Conference on Tuesday in its first weekly report of the 2017-18 season.

The Smyrna, Tennessee, native made her first career start last Friday in Tech's season-opening win over Tennessee Wesleyan, leading the Golden Eagles with 21 points and receiving the honor of First National Bank of Tennessee-Special Olympics Player of the Game.

Along with fellow freshman Jordan Brock, who scored 20 points, Brady became the first Tech freshman to score 20+ points in her debut since Kellie Cook put up 22 points against Alabama on Nov. 13, 2009.

Brady also added six rebounds and four steals on Friday.

The list of OVC weekly honor recipients for Nov. 14 is as follows:

Co-Players of the Week – Ke'Shunan James (G/F), Murray State & Tia Wooten (F), Tennessee State
Newcomer of the Week – Tierra McGowan (F), Morehead State
Freshman of the Week – Kesha Brady (G), Tennessee Tech

Tech travels to Middle Tennessee on Tuesday night for a 6:30 p.m. CT tip-off and to East Tennessee State on Friday for a 6 p.m. CT tip-off.
