COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech basketball fans will focus
their attention on the small west Tennessee town of Martin Saturday
afternoon when the Golden Eagle women's and men's teams face the UT
Martin Skyhawks in an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader. The
women's game tips off at 4 p.m., while the men's contest is slated
for 6 p.m.
The Tech women had won two-in-a-row before dropping a contest
Thursday night at league-leading UT Martin. The Golden Eagles waged
an outstanding battle against the Lady Racers before falling. Now,
head coach Amy
Brown is hoping for a similar solid effort against the Skyhawks
to give her team a sweep of the season series. Tech beat the UTM
women, 63-56 in Eblen Center a month ago.
Later that evening in Cookeville, the UTM Skyhawk men's team
claimed an 83-72 win over coach Mike
Sutton's squad. Tech comes into Saturday's game at UTM hoping
to snap a four-game losing streak, while the Skyhawks are just a
half-game out of first place with a 10-3 league worksheet. Tech
fell at Murray State Thursday night, 73-52, and brings a 5-10 OVC
record into the contest.
