Golden Eagles host Drake in Eblen Center before heading to Florida Atlantic Tournament

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team takes on the Drake Bulldogs of the Missouri Valley Conference Tuesday night in the Eblen Center. The Bulldogs are looking to snap a two-game skid, while the Golden Eagles try to get back to .500, sitting a 1-2 heading into the contest.

Drake is coming off back-to-back losses to Wisconsin and UW-Green Bay heading into the game, and is 1-2 on the season. The game will be the first ever meeting between Drake and Tennessee Tech.

The Golden Eagles, also 1-2, have displayed a balanced attack in their first three games. Senior Blair Bowens is leading the team in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per game. Sophomore Jasmine White and freshman Krystal Stirrup have each put together their first career double-double in the young season.

White had 19 points and 13 boards against Belmont, while Stirrup's 12-point, 10 rebound performance against Lipscomb helped her earn Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honors.

The team will travel to Boca Raton, Fla. later in the week, where they will compete in the Florida Atlantic Thanksgiving tournament. Tech will play Florida Atlantic on Nov. 29 at 2 p.m., and either Texas or Georgia Tech on Nov. 30.

Tech returns home on Dec. 6 to host Jacksonville State in the OVC opener. Tickets can be purchased online at TTUsports.com, or over the phone 931-372-3940.
