CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – It wasn't a day for setting school records, but the Tennessee Tech track & field team did establish seven new personal best marks Saturday at the Austin Peay Govs Invitational.

No team scores were tallied in the meet, which included eight different schools.

Tech posted nearly 20 Top 10 finishes in the meet, including a first-place effort from freshman Chelsea Mills in the triple jump. Competing in the event for the first time in her Golden Eagle career during the outdoor season, Mills beat the field with a leap of 35 feet, 6 inches. Junior Kelli Keck was a close second with a personal-best jump of 35 feet, 2 inches.

Mills also earned a fourth place mark in the long jump at 16 feet, one inch. She was eighth in the 200-meter dash in 27.30 seconds, the best of three Tech runners in the event. Keck placed 10^th in 27.90, while newcomer Tiara Hymon was 14^th in 28.56.

Brooklyn Kimball, Tech's lone entry in the 400-meter run, placed seventh in 1:03.55.

Junior Rebecca Cline led a field of six Golden Eagle runners competing in the 3,000-meter run, placing fifth overall with a personal-best time of 10:37.64. Senior Beth Miller also had a career-best time, finishing ninth in 10:55.18.  A third PR in the event came from Kathryn Forbes, who was 24^th in 11:24.14.

Miller was 21^st and Kendale Caldwell 24^th in the 1,500-meter run. Miller posted a time of 5:14.09 in her first time in the race, while Caldwell's time was 5:33.27.

Freshman Landry Loving clocked a personal-best time of 2:26.84 in placing eighth in the 800-meter run. Dalis Connell narrowly missed the career mark she established last week, finishing 14^th in 2:31.33.

In the high jump, sophomore Erin Keyes (in photo) had a PR when she edged over the bar at 5 feet, ½ inch to place in a tie for second place.

Tech's seventh PR came in the shot put where sophomore Margarett Holder's toss of 31 feet, 6 inches was ninth. She trailed senior teammate Madison Borden in the event. Borden was fourth with a toss of 37 feet, 8 inches.

Borden also had Tech's best showing in the discus, finishing sixth at 122 feet, 6 inches. Lacy Yslas was seventh at 113 feet, 9 inches.

Senior Katie Lowery had another of Tech's second-place performances, clearing the pole vault at 10 feet, one-half inch.

Tech's next two events will take the team into Kentucky. Next Saturday (April 6), Tech runs at the Murray State Invitational, with the Western Kentucky Invitational a week later on Saturday, April 13.
