Schedule for Virginia Tech meet

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- A contingent of 18 runners, jumpers and throwers will head to Virginia Tech this weekend as the Tennessee Tech women's track & field team participates in the Last Chance Meet for a final attempt at qualifying for the NCAA National Championships.

Coach Tony Cox and his squad will join a gathering of teams from throughout the East and Southeast regions, with individual athletes taking one final stab at achieving times or distances that might extend their indoor season.

"It should be a pretty high level meet since most of the teams there will be trying to qualify for nationals," Cox said.

The team established 16 new individual career-best marks last weekend during the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships, but those performances weren't enough to lift any Golden Eagles to the NCAA East Regional.
