COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle softball team
and head coach Tory Acheson have finalized the schedule for the
upcoming 2012 fall campagn, which includes a home game against the
University of Tennessee Lady Vols.
The Purple Pride will officially open its fall slate this weekend with a doubleheader against Motlow State in Cookeville at the Tech Softball Field on Saturday. The doubleheader is set for 1 p.m.
Admission to all games is free.
This year's fall exhibition schedule features three other home games. Tech takes on Vol State and Chattanooga State in preparation for the featured game of the fall season, the University of Tennessee.
On Friday, Oct. 5, the Golden Eagles will face a Lady Vol squad that finished sixth nationally last year, after winning the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division title, and appearing in the Women's College World Series for a fifth time.
The fall season concludes with a road trip to Chattanooga where Tech will go-head-to-head with Milligan and Cleveland State at UT Chattanooga.
The 2012-13 softball squad has 11 returning to the plate, with 13 additional newcomers.
