COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- As the Tennessee Tech football alumni converge back on Cookeville this weekend for the annual Tech Football Alumni Reunion Weekend and Golf Classic, starting Friday at the Golden Eagle Golf Club, there will be many old war stories and legends passed around the clubhouse and on the course.

During last year's event, several interviews were conducted with a few of the alumni by Brian Kazaks from the Tech Athletics Video Production unit for air during the Dewayne Alexander Show.

With the event coming up this weekend, these interviews are being presented once again.

Up first is Marty Jones, a defensive back for the Golden Eagles from 2009 to 2014. Jones holds the Tech record for interceptions in a single game with four against Eastern Kentucky in his final campaign.

Up next is Kenneth Gilstrap, a wide receiver at Tech from 1985 to 1988. He was a first-team all-Ohio Valley Conference selection in the 1987 campaign.

Next is Larry Schreiber, a running back from 1966 to 1969. He was an Associated Press all-American selection in 1969, as well as three times all-OVC and was the OVC Player of the Year his senior year. Schreiber was awarded the Robert Hill Johnson Award three times and went on to an NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers and the Chicago Bears.

Next is Thomas Squires, a linebacker from 1985 to 1987. He was an All-America selection by The Football News with a 136-tackle season as a senior. That season still ranks as the sixth-best campaign for a Tech tackler and Squires earned an All-OVC nod for his efforts that year.

Closing out the countdown is Ottis Phillips, a Golden Eagle halfback from 1969 to 1972. Following his graduation, Phillips has been a major supporter of Tennessee Tech Athletics and continues his efforts to this day.

To register for the Tech Football Alumni Reunion Weekend and Golf Classic, call the Tech Ticket Office at (931) 372-3940, visit the office in the Hooper Eblen Center or follow the registration link here.
