Moore named OVC Defensive Player of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech got a big win Saturday against Tennessee State and Aderick Moore's big day on defense was a major part of it.

Moore was selected on Sunday as the Ohio Valley Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts, which included 12 total tackles, two sacks for 22 yards and five tackles-for-loss for 30 yards. The five TFLs is the second most in a game nationally this season.

Moore also forced a fumble and broke up a pass in the 30-26 victory over the Tigers.

He currently ranks second in the conference in tackles, averaging 8.4 per game.

The week's other winners included Jacksonville State's Roc Thomas as the offensive player of the week, Austin Peay's Kyran Moore and Jacksonville State's Cade Stinnett were co-specialists of the week, while APSU's Jeremiah Oatsvall and Eastern Kentucky's Tim Boyle split the newcomer of the week honor.

Tech returns to action on Saturday as it hosts Austin Peay in its annual Homecoming contest, starting at 1:30 p.m.
