COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Before the Tennessee Tech football team wraps up its final day of fall camp, the Golden Eagles will showcase their skills in front of the fans during the annual Gathering of Eagles.
This year's fan event will be held on Thursday, Aug. 24 at Tucker Stadium.
"This is a great event for our guys to meet our fans and see who will be cheering them on, decked in their best purple and gold," said Tech head football coach Marcus Satterfield.
The event opens with the kids' football, cheer and dance clinic, starting at 6 p.m. Kids in attendance will get the opportunity to work with Tech football players, cheerleaders and dance team members as they learn drills and skills both teams use in their day-to-day efforts.
"Our guys had a blast with last year's clinic," Satterfield said. "Watching the smiles on our guys' faces told the whole story. Who knows? Years from now, those kids could be wearing a Tennessee Tech uniform."
Following the clinic, tables will be set up allowing fans to get autographs from their favorite Golden Eagles.
After the autograph session, the team will host its final scrimmage of the camp schedule, starting at approximately 7:20 p.m.
Athletics will also be giving out free hot dogs, chips and Pepsi products to fans in attendance.
The Gathering of Eagles also provides an awesome opportunity for fans to purchase their season tickets for the 2017 campaign, which starts on Aug. 31 as Tech hosts Western Illinois.
