COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It's one of the days looked most forward to during the football season.

Homecoming is always a fan favorite with the pageantry, the fellowship and, of course, the football.

The Tennessee Tech football team has announced its annual Homecoming game for Saturday, Nov. 4, as the Golden Eagles host Ohio Valley Conference and in-state rival Austin Peay.

"Homecoming is a valuable tradition for every college campus and football program," said TTU director of athletics Mark Wilson. "It's a time when alumni return to campus, rekindle friendships, celebrate the traditions of the university, engage with current students and learn about the progress/growth of Tennessee Tech.

"That weekend has always been an important one for Tech Athletics with our teams in the middle of their respective battles for OVC titles, as well as hosting our annual Hall of Fame inductions."

Wilson continued, "With Austin Peay as our guest that weekend for the Homecoming football game, it will continue a gridiron rivalry and should be an exciting contest for our fans and alumni."

The kickoff time will be announced at a later date.

On Homecoming, the Golden Eagles are 46-39-1 all-time, including winning their last three. The Governors have been the Homecoming guest three times, with Tech taking a 2-1 record against the Govs – most recently a 42-24 victory in 2015.

Tech is 32-18 all-time against Austin Peay, 26-18 in Ohio Valley Conference play, which also includes winning seven of the last eight meetings.

The Golden Eagles finished third in the OVC last season with a 5-3 league run, 5-6 overall. APSU went 0-11, including 0-8 in conference play.

The other special events for the 2017 campaign will be announced at a later date.
