PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team completed round one of action at the Golfweek/AJT Intercollegiate Monday afternoon, producing a score of 313 in its first trip around the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.

The Golden Eagles rounded out the first day of competition 16th among the 19-team field. Cal Poly turned in a 289 to lead following the first round, topping High Point by one stroke. Cal Poly's Sarah Yoo led all individuals with a 3-under 68.

Tying for 51st among the 104 participants to lead the purple and gold was senior Ainsley Simms. The Tech veteran carded a 77 on the day, picking up a birdie to go along with 13 pars. Next among the Tech squad, Chloe Griffith followed right behind Simms with a 78, recording her own birdie in the round. 

A trio of Golden Eagles tied for 71st overall, all registering scores of 79. Sophomore Kaydi Rhodes used 12 pars to turn in her 79 while freshman Lexus Julian delivered a pair of birdies with hers. Senior Gittle Sciolis backed her 79 up with two bridies as well.

Competing as an individual, sophomore Sydney Branson produced a birdie while totaling an 81 in the first round.

Round two of the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate will feature split tee times off the Nos. 1 and 10 holes starting at 6:45 a.m. CT. The Golden Eagles will start their second round at 7:00 a.m. from the 10th tee.
