UAB Fall Beach Blast promises beautiful conditions for Golden Eagles

Bell boasts top Tech average at 76.8

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Tech's women's golf team will be in search of a warmer climate as it wraps up its fall season at the UAB Beach Blast beginning Monday in Gulf Shores, Ala.

With ideal weather conditions (sunny with temperatures in the mid-70s) predicted, head coach Polk Brown hopes his team can end its campaign and head into the winter offseason with low scores and plenty of momentum.

"With this being the last tournament of the fall, I'm very proud and excited about the progress the girls have made since the season began just a month-and-a-half ago," he said. "I look forward to finishing the semester out strong, and I know the girls are pumped about going down to Gulf Shores where the weather is supposed to be perfect."

The Golden Eagles' lineup will consist of Katherine Bell, Brandy VanEtten, Maddi Everts, Katy Beth Glover and Amber Shepherd with Amanda Randolph playing as an individual.

Bell has been Tech's top performer through four tournaments so far this season, posting an average of 76.8 and earning one top 10 finish (at the Murray State Drake Creek Invitational). VanEtten posts the next-lowest average for the Golden Eagles at 77.8, followed by Everts (78.3), Glover (78.9), Shepherd (81.4) and Randolph (81.9).

Results from the UAB Beach Blast will be published on TTUSports.com as they become available.
