Glover was the highest finisher Sunday for the Tennessee Tech
women's golf team following the first round of play in the 36-hole
Low Country Intercollegiate at Hilton Head, S.C.
In the team standings, Tech is in 13th place with a 348 total.
Appalachian State holds a slim lead in what is boiling down to a
three-team chase. The Mountaineers are on top of the charts at 314,
followed closely by Gardner-Webb (315) and Samford (316). Host
Wofford is fourth at 321 and Richmond rounds out the Top 5 at
324.
After posting a 45 on the front nine Sunday, Glover put things
together on the back nine for a 37, giving her an 82 total and
placing her in a tie for 23rd. Sophomore Katherine Bell also opened
with 45 on the front and came back with a 39 on the back, her 84
putting her in a tie for 34th place.
Senior Carley Rhyne is tied for 64th after shooting 90, following
by Amanda Randolph (92) and freshman Brandy VanEtten (93).
Appalachian State's Yue Xu and Samford's Anna Heim are the
individual leaders after the opening round, tying at 74.
Play resumes Monday at 8 a.m. with the second round.
