BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – D'Airrien Jackson has been named the adidas® OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Ohio Valley Conference on Wednesday in its latest weekly report of the 2018 outdoor season.

Jackson appeared in four events at Tech's regular-season-ending Lenny Lyles / Clark Wood Invitational in Kentucky over the weekend, not finishing lower than fifth. Individually, she placed second among the 400m dash's 37 competitors with a time of 54.21 and third among the 200m dash's 43 runners with a time of 24.25. Her 200m dash time set a new personal record and now ranks third in the OVC.

Jackson also had a hand in Tech's sprint relays. The Golden Eagles won the 4x400m relay in 3:45.62 and finished fifth in the 4x100m relay in 46.21.

With Jackson's honor this week, Tech now leads the conference with five OVC Athlete of the Week selections in the 2018 outdoor season. Four different Golden Eagles have been awarded an OVC weekly honor (Jackson, Khemani Roberts, Micayla Rennick and Na'Asha Robinson twice), which also marks the most in the OVC.

The list of female OVC weekly honor recipients for May 2 is as follows:
Track Athlete of the Week – D'Airrien Jackson, Tennessee Tech
Field Athlete of the Week – Liz Marcinek, Eastern Kentucky

Tech is currently preparing to host the 2018 OVC Outdoor Championships at Tucker Stadium. The three-day conference meet is scheduled for Thursday, May 10 through Saturday, May 12.
