BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Micayla Rennick has been named the adidas® OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Ohio Valley Conference on Wednesday in its latest weekly report of the 2017-18 outdoor season.
Rennick raced in just one individual event in last week's Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays in Starkville, Mississippi, but she made it a good one. Her winning time of 16:30.27 in the 5000m run broke a nearly 10-year-old program record of 17:05.83 and gave her the leading time in the event in the conference so far this season. Rennick also ranks second in the 5000m in the NCAA Division I East region and third nationally.
She was also part of Tech's 4x800m relay squad that finished second with a time of 9:22.00.
