CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech track & field remains in-state this weekend to compete in yet another meet that has been shortened by weather.
The Austin Peay Governors Invitational was initially scheduled for both Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14 but will be condensed to Friday only due to expected storms on Saturday.
Tech ran in another shortened meet last week at Western Kentucky's Hilltopper Relays.
The Golden Eagles are currently ranked 19th in the USTFCCCA South Region, up three spots from their Week 1 ranking of No. 22. They totaled three wins in the 4x100m relay (Ceirra Tate, Lisa Wickham, D'Airrien Jackson and Na'Asha Robinson), 200m dash (Robinson) and 1500m run (Purity Sanga) at the Hilltopper Relays and also broke the school record in the 100m dash (Wickham) that had been in place since April 2004.
Robinson earned adidas® OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week honors following her performance at Western Kentucky, taking part in four events and not finishing lower than fourth in any.
Tech leads the conference in seven outdoor events and will look to add more at Austin Peay.
