LOUISVILLE – Tennessee Tech track & field completes its final preparations for the outdoor postseason on Saturday at the Lenny Lyles / Clark Wood Invitational, hosted by the University of Louisville.
The meet kicked off with select throws and jumps on Friday, but Tech's events are all scheduled for the meet's closing day on Saturday.
Saturday represents Tech's last meet before hosting the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships from May 10-12 at Tucker Stadium, and so the Golden Eagles will look to better their times and marks in Louisville for seeding purposes at OVCs.
However, like indoors, Tech has proved since March that it's arguably the strongest team in the OVC. The Golden Eagles are currently the lone Ohio Valley Conference program with a top-15 regional ranking, sitting at No. 14 in the USTFCCCA South Region. Following last weekend's Virginia Challenge and Georgia Tech Invitational, a Golden Eagle ranks within the top five marks in 13 different events and leads the OVC in eight events.
Junior heptathlete Khemani Roberts was also recognized on Wednesday as the latest adidas® OVC Female Field Athlete of the Week, marking Tech's fourth OVC weekly honor of the outdoor season.
