COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Tech head football coach Watson Brown has been named a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Award, which honors the national coach of the year in the Football Championship Subdivision.

Brown led the Golden Eagles to their first Ohio Valley Conference championship since 1975, securing the title with a 49-7 victory over Austin Peay on Saturday at Tucker Stadium.

Tech will host Central Arkansas on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. in its first-ever FCS playoff appearance. Tickets are on sale at the Eblen Center ticket office and are available by calling (931) 372-3940.

Coaches who combined for 14 conference championships this season are among the 20 finalists announced Monday for the 25^th Eddie Robinson Award. The winner of the award, presented by The Sports Network and sponsored by Fathead.com, will be announced at the national awards banquet on Friday, Jan. 6 in Frisco, Texas — the night before the national championship game.

A panel of over 150 sports information and media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries will select the Robinson Award winner. Voting will reflect only the regular season.

The award is named in honor of former Grambling State head coach Eddie Robinson, who served 57 seasons and retired in 1997 as the winningest coach in college football history with 408 wins. He has been surpassed only by Joe Paterno of Penn State.

Brown is also a candidate for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award and currently ranks 12^th in nationwide voting. Golden Eagle supporters can help Brown by voting for him at the link listed above this story.
