BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – It didn't take long for the Tennessee Tech soccer team to be recognized for its play on the pitch.
In the season's first installment of the Ohio Valley Conference weekly accolades, Golden Eagle sophomore Neve Renwick secured one of the year's first honors after being named the OVC Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday afternoon.
Renwick's first career weekly award comes on the heels of finding the back of the net in each of Tech's first two matches of the season to become the only player in the conference with two goals in 2024. The Sheffield, England native split the pipes in the 59th minute in Tech's opening tussle at Samford on Aug. 15 before unwrapping the scoring in Sunday's home opener against Miami (OH) in the 14th minute.
The reigning OVC Freshman of the Year attempted a league-best eight shots in the pair of affairs and her four tries on-goal were also the most in the conference over the first two matches.
Renwick and the rest of the Golden Eagles will wrap up a two-match homestand Thursday evening as the purple and gold will greet Saint Mary's for the first-ever meeting between the two clubs. Kickoff from Tech Soccer Field is slated for 7 p.m. CT and admission is free of charge.
