COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech soccer squad will conclude their first week of the semester with a split venue weekend, first taking on the Vanderbilt Commodores on Friday night in Nashville, and then returning to Cookeville for a home match against UNC-Asheville on Sunday.

Tech matched up against Vandy last in 2008, when current senior Ashley Smith recorded TTU's only goal of the 4-1 loss to VU in Cookeville. Smith's shot on net also represents the only goal netted by the Golden Eagles against Vandy since their first meeting in 2003.

Smith and her teammates will be looking to snap the 3-0 losing streak this Friday evening when they face off against the Commodores on Vandy's home field.

"Vanderbilt is an SEC powerhouse, and will undoubtedly serve to prepare us for a challenging Ohio Valley Conference," said first-year coach Daniel Brizard of Friday's nightcap. "The atmosphere of a night game in Nashville will definitely get us pumped for Friday's game."

Fans who will be unable to attend Friday's match can follow the livestats here.
