COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – This past Tennessee Tech women's basketball season stands out among those in recent history, and produced its fair share of memories, milestones, and most importantly – highlights.
With the program's highest win total since 2010-11 – 22 overall victories – including an epic triumph over in-state rival Middle Tennessee and road victories at conference powers Belmont and UT Martin, the Golden Eagles recorded the third-largest win increase in NCAA Division I this season, a plus-15 mark from their 7-22 campaign last year.
Adding an even sweeter taste was the fact that the MTSU victory was the program's first over the Blue Raiders in 14 tries, while the win over Belmont was their first in 11, and snapped the Bruins' 47-game winning streak over Ohio Valley Conference opponents.
The conference season was also the best seen in Cookeville in quite some time, as the team recorded 12 OVC wins and a fourth-place finish in the final standings, marks that were most recently matched by the 2012-13 team.
That league ledger brought the Golden Eagles to the OVC Tournament for the second time in three seasons under OVC Coach of the Year Kim Rosamond, where the team recorded the program's first win since 2013 with a 68-57 victory over fifth-seeded Austin Peay.
A berth in the Women's Basketball Invitational came next, TTU's first in a national postseason tournament since 2011-12. The opening-round victory over Akron, a convincing 73-59 decision in the Eblen Center, was Tech's first on the national scale since 2006.
And that brings us to the highlights – which speak for themselves. Check them out below!
