COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Nine days since claiming its first victory of
the season, the Tennessee Tech tennis team returns to the court for
the first time Sunday morning with a match at Kennesaw State. The
Golden Eagles will follow that with a Monday morning contest at
Georgia Gwinnett College.
Tech claimed a 4-3 win over Lipscomb University on the final day
of February in its last event. Kennesaw State (4-5) has also been
out of action for more than a week since picking up a 4-3 win at
OVC foe Eastern Kentucky on March 1.
First serve in the Owls' match with the Golden Eagles is scheduled
for 10 a.m. (CT) at Fair Oaks Park in Marietta.

Arovin leads Tech with a 5-2 record in singles play this
spring, filling the No. 1 position for coach Kenny Doyle's team. He
is a 12-9 overall in singles play in his first season for the
Golden Eagles.
In doubles, Arovin and Alberto
Esteban are 2-3 in the No. 1 spot, while the No. 2 dup of Vasily
Eremeev and Artem Tarasov
own a 3-3 mark in dual matches. Both of those pairs are 5-4 overall
this year in doubles play.
Freshman David Durham is currently leading the Owls with a 7-2
dual-match record, including 2-0 marks at No. 4 and No. 6
singles.
Monday's foe, Georgia Gwinnett is the No. 4 ranked team in NCAA Division II, and brings a perfect 7-0 record into the weekend. The Grizzlies are coming off a 9-0 victory over Morehouse College on Wednesday, and face Division III No. 5 Kenyon (Ohio) on Sunday.
GGC players have posted a combined 35-2 record this spring in singles play, led by Matias Hatem with a 7-0 record, mostly at No. 4.
