COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – One of Tennessee Tech's longest rivalries will take center stage Friday in Nashville as the Golden Eagle women's basketball team takes on the Austin Peay Lady Govs in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament semi-finals.

Tennessee Tech entered the OVC Tournament as the #1 seed, compiling a 15-3 conference record, en route to a 22-6 overall record and its first OVC Championship since the 2005-06 season.

Austin Peay drew the #5 seed in the tournament behind 14-17 record and a 12-6 OVC record. In the first round, the Lady Govs defeated the #8 Murray State Racers 71-64 and followed with a 78-72 victory over #4 Eastern Illinois to advance to the semi-final game against TTU.

During the regular season, Tech split the season series with APSU, with each team winning its road game. The Golden Eagles earned the 69-65 victory in their first meeting (1/20), but fell to Lady Govs in their second meeting 63-57 (2/19).

Junior guard Tacarra Hayes paced the Tech offense against APSU as she averaged 16.5 points and seven rebounds per game. Junior guard Rachel Glidden averaged 10.5 points in her two encounters with Austin Peay, while freshman forward Molly Heady averaged nine points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

The Golden Eagles own an all-time record of 69-15 against the Lady Govs, including a 3-3 mark during the last three seasons. This will also be the seventh time Tech and APSU have met in the OVC Tournament with the Golden Eagles coming out ahead on four occasions (1982, 1994, 1998 and 2000).
