Church Bulletin Sunday this weekend;
Other events planned in January and February

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Special promotions are in store during the next two months for Tennessee Tech basketball fans as the Athletics Department hosts three more “county” nights, Basketball Alumni Night, Pack The House Night and a handful of other events surrounding Golden Eagle games in Eblen Center.

Tech has already hosted White County Night, and will also entertain fans from Jackson, Putnam and Overton Counties. There are special dates planned for youth who participate in Vision and Upward Basketball leagues, Military Appreciation Night and Think Pink for breast cancer awareness.

The first event comes on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 2), when Tech hosts the second “Church Bulletin Day” at Eblen Center. Fans can purchase tickets to the doubleheader for just one dollar each just by presenting a church bulletin (limit four per bulletin). The women’s team hosts St. Louis University at 2 p.m., followed the men’s game against Bluefield College at 4 p.m.

Jackson County Night is planned for Thursday, Jan. 13, when the Golden Eagles host UT Martin in an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m. Residents of Jackson County may purchase tickets for one dollar at the ticket office on the night of the game.

That night is also Vision Basketball Night, so all youth who play in the Vision program are invited as guests just by wearing their game shirts.

Putnam County Night is set for Saturday, Jan. 15, when Tech entertains Murray State in an OVC twinbill, also beginning at 5:30 p.m. The same one dollar offer is extended to residents of Putnam County for the games.

The Murray State doubleheader will also be Basketball Alumni Night, with special recognition to several past OVC championship teams. All former men’s and women’s basketball alumni are invited to attend, and should contact Grant Swallows (931-372-3940) for information and registration.

The evening will also offer fans a chance to meet and visit with the former players. Addition details will be announced later.

Military Appreciation Night takes place on Thursday, Feb. 3, when Tech hosts Eastern Kentucky for a doubleheader. In addition, Tech will host its annual halftime for “Recognizing Academic Excellence” and present its most recent Athletic Director’s Honor Roll student-athletes.

Youth players in Upward Basketball are also invited guests for the games on Feb. 3, with free admission for wearing game shirts.

Residents of Overton County have their special night on Saturday, Feb. 5, for the powerhouse doubleheader against Morehead State. The one dollar ticket offer is extended to residents of Overton County.

One of the biggest nights of the year comes on Saturday, Feb. 19, when Tech hosts a mixed doubleheader. The women will play Austin Peay in the opener, while the men's team hosts a BracketBuster opponent, who will be announced later. It’s Think Pink Night as the women’s basketball teams hosts the event to increase breast cancer awareness. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the arena.

That night is also “Pack The House” Night as coach Sytia Messer’s team hopes to break the school attendance record for a women’s game. Special ticket offers will be announced for “Pack The House” Night.

For information on any of the upcoming special promotions, please call the Athletics Ticket Office in Eblen Center (931-372-3940). The ticket office remains closed this week, but will be open Thursday evening (Dec. 30) beginning at 6 p.m. for that night’s men’s  game with Crowley’s Ridge College. It will also open Sunday at 1 p.m. for that day’s doubleheader.
