Men's game at Austin Peay to be televised on ESPNU; Tipoff times changed

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The January 20 Ohio Valley Conference men's basketball contest between Tennessee Tech and Austin Peay has been selected for broadcast by ESPNU as part of the league's television package.

When the OVC announced its ESPN basketball schedule on Oct. 7, there were two dates on the schedule designated as "wild card" dates where the game to be aired was not selected until 21 days before the contest, making sure an attractive matchup was televised, instead of having to determine the full schedule a month before the season began.

Entering this weekend's games, Austin Peay (10-6, 4-0 OVC) is at the top of the OVC standings while Tennessee Tech (6-6, 2-1) also has a winning record in Conference play. Last season the two rivals split the regular season series (including a game that went into overtime) and played a back-and-forth affair in the first round of the OVC Tournament, which Tennessee Tech won 68-65 on a last second 3-pointer by Kevin Murphy.

The game at the Dunn Center in Clarksville will air at 6 p.m. CT on ESPNU. As a result the women's basketball contest involving both of those schools which was set for 5:15 p.m. that day will now tip-off at 8:15 p.m. CT.

The other "wild card" date on the OVC's ESPN schedule is Thursday, Feb. 3; an announcement on which game is selected for that date will be made later this month.
