College Insider’s Tournament to be broadcast by Fox Sports

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Fox Sports will be broadcasting all first-round games of the College Insider’s Tournament (CIT), including the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle’s match-up with the Broncos of Western Michigan, live on FCS Broadband.

The web stream is free and available at the following link to all fans who wish to view live coverage of post-season tournament action: Tennessee Tech @ Western Michigan; CIT - Round 1

Tech will tip off against WMU at 6:00 p.m. central time on Wednesday evening in Kalamazoo in the first round of the tournament. The game will mark Tech’s fifth appearance in the post-season, and only the third-ever meeting between the Golden Eagles and the Broncos. The two opponents met in the 1969-70 season, as well as in 1972-73, splitting the games for a 1-1 record.

TTU heads into the game with a 20-12 overall record, having most recently matched up against Morehead State in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship game. Tech took an 80-73 loss dealt by the Eagles, but had won seven straight prior to that game.

Western Michigan, meanwhile, advanced to the semi-final round of the First Energy MAC Tournament, where they suffered a 68-79 loss to Akron to end a five-game win streak.

"Our team and coaching staff is very excited about playing in the post-season," Tech head coach Mike Sutton said. "Western Michigan is a tough draw with their size and athleticism, so we'll have to play well to have a chance to win and advance."
A win over the Broncos will send the Golden Eagles into the second round of the tournament, to be played on March 18 and 19.
