COOKEVILEE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team will look to get back to its winning ways Saturday as it wraps up its two-game road trip against Eastern Kentucky.
This will be the 71st meeting between the Golden Eagles and the Colonels with Tech owning the all-time series edge at 48-21. Over the last three seasons both teams have compiled a 3-3 record with each team winning their three home games.
Tech (9-4, 3-1 OVC) recently fell to Morehead State 78-53 last Thursday at the Johnson Arena. Junior center Brittany Darling posted a team-high 15 points, while freshman forward Molly Heady added nine points and nine rebounds.
Eastern Kentucky currently owns a 4-9 record, including a 1-4 mark in OVC play. The Colonels are currently on a five-game losing streak which includes a 72-65 loss to Jacksonville State last Thursday.
Opening tip is set for 3 p.m. CT. at the EKU Alumni Coliseum.
The Tennessee Tech men's teams will also look to get back on track against Eastern Kentucky Thursday. Tech (6-7, 2-2 OVC) recently dropped a 76-64 decision to Morehead State. Opening tip for the men's game is slated for 6 p.m. CT.
Both Tech teams return home next week for a two-game home stand as they host UT Martin Thursday and Murray State Jan. 15. Both women's games are slated for a 5:30 p.m. tip, with both men's games scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
