Tennis heads to Raliegh, N.C. for N.C. State Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C.—Another weekend means another tournament for the Tennessee Tech tennis team. The Golden Eagles travel to North Carolina State Friday-Sunday to compete in the North Carolina State Invitational. 

The matches are slated to start at 8:30 a.m. each day. On Friday, participants will play two doubles matches and one singles match, on Saturday, competitors will each play one doubles match and two singles matches, and on Sunday, each player will compete in one singles match.

Representing Tech in this weekend's tournament are Carlos Tajes, Jorge Alfonso, Nicolas Guillermo, and Alavaro Cintas.

In the first round of singles, Tajes will compete against Eastern Carolina's (ECU) Ronny Georgi, Alfonso will take on Georgia Southern's Ristomatti Lanne, Guillermo will face the University of North Carolina-Greensboro's Connor Thompson, and Cintas will compete against Davidson's Jack Riazzi.

For doubles, Guillermo and Cintas will team up to take on ECU's Will Bissett and James Ling, while Alfonso and Tajes will face N.C. State's Chris Mikovas and Shoti Meparidze.
